Knoxville, Tennessee, is a city of just under 200,000 people, located on the Tennessee River. It is the home of the University of Tennessee and the site of the 1982 World’s Fair. The influence of Knoxville’s location and history is evident throughout the city, from the layout of Market Square to the architecture of various buildings throughout the city. If you’re looking for a thrill, then head over to Dollywood or one of the area’s other amusement attractions, such as Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.

Volunteer Landing
This is a park on the riverbank in downtown Knoxville. There are several restaurants, including Calhoun’s and Copper Cellar, as well as Sunsphere Tower. The tower was built for the 1982 World’s Fair and is now a tourist attraction. It has an observation deck with a panoramic view of Knoxville and surrounding areas.
Market Square
Market Square features outdoor dining, shopping, and entertainment. The square is surrounded by historic buildings, and there are numerous restaurants and pubs in the area. It is located near Volunteer Landing, so you can visit both places during one trip to Knoxville. You can also take a riverboat cruise from Volunteer Landing or visit the Sunsphere Tower.
